Events in 1990

Date unknown	Warriors of the Wind was re-released by StarMaker Entertainment, while My Little Pony: The Movie was re-released by Video Treasures.
February 12	Super Mario Bros. 3 was released for use on the NES in North America.
February 20	The Wizard of Oz reran on CBS, followed by the premiere of a special documentary titled "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz: The Making of a Movie Classic".
March 5	The Kidsongs TV Show began reruns on The Disney Channel. The nine music video shows to date were all re-printed on VHS shortly afterwards.
March 21	The Black Cauldron was re-titled "Taran and the Magic Cauldron" when it was re-issued in limited theaters. Along with it were Twin Books' storybook adaptation of this film and Oliver & Company.
April 16–20	Five new episodes of Mister Rogers' Neighborhood, titled "Mister Rogers Talks About the Environment", premiered on PBS. These were episodes #1616–1620. Following this were the last reruns of episodes #1141–1210.
April 30	Barney & the Backyard Gang: Waiting for Santa was released on VHS.
May 10	The third season of Full House began reruns on ABC after it ended with 26 episodes.
May 18	The Little Mermaid was released on VHS.
May 22	Microsoft released Windows 3.0. At that time, DOS 4.01 was still current.
May 30	Barney & the Backyard Gang: Campfire Sing-Along was released on VHS.
June 8	Thomas Gets Tricked and Other Stories was released on VHS.
July 13	The Jungle Book was re-issued in theaters.
July 30–August 3	Five more new episodes of Mister Rogers' Neighborhood, titled "Mister Rogers Talks About Fathers & Music", premiered on PBS. These were episodes #1621–1625. By this point, only 165 episodes of the old series remained on PBS at the time.
August 15	Barney & the Backyard Gang: Barney Goes to School was released on VHS.
August 16	James Learns a Lesson and Other Thomas Stories was released on VHS.
	From Kidsongs, there were two new titles: A Day at Camp and Ride the Roller Coaster.
August 20–31	Reruns of the "Starting School" and "Josephine the Short-Neck Giraffe" episodes of Mister Rogers' Neighborhood now occurred every August.
September 3	The seventh season of Jeopardy! and the eighth season of Wheel of Fortune began on local syndication.
September 8	Adventures of Super Mario Bros. 3 premiered on NBC.
September 21	The fourth season of Full House premiered on ABC.
	Peter Pan was released on VHS.
September 27	Two new Thomas & Friends titles -- Tenders and Turnables and Thomas Breaks the Rules -- were released on VHS. Both videos contained Season 2 episodes for the first time.
	Comic book adaptations of Nausicäa of the Valley of the Wind were released in Japanese bookstores, in four volumes.
October 5	Sega of Japan introduced the Game Gear.
	Fantasia was re-released in theaters one last time.
November	Barney & the Backyard Gang began airing occasionally on The Disney Channel.
November 16	The Rescuers Down Under premiered in theaters. Twin Books also published a storybook adaptation.
November 19–23	"Mister Rogers Talks About Mouths & Feelings" (episodes #1626–1630) premiered on PBS.
November 21	Super Mario World was released in Japan for use on the Super Famicom.
November 22	Horton Hears a Who! reran on TNT.
December 6	How the Grinch Stole Christmas! aired on TNT for the first time.
