Currency of 1992Edit

Denomination Notes
1dollar 1992 As of January 1, 1992, there were about 5.3 billion $1 bills in circulation. While almost 99% were Series 1988A, there were at least about 60,000,000 Series 1988 or older bills remaining, made in April 1990 at the earliest.
2dollar 1976 As of January 1, 1992, there were approximately 350,000,000 to 450,000,000 Series 1976 $2 bills in circulation.
5dollar 1992 As of January 1, 1992, virtually all 1.3 billion $5 bills in circulation were Series 1988A, the oldest ones made in December 1990 at the latest.
10dollar 1991

As of January 1, 1992, out of all the 1.3 billion $10 bills in circulation, up to less than 30,000,000 remained as Series 1985, the oldest ones made in April or May 1990 at the latest.

The Series 1990 bills with a new security feature were introduced in July.

20dollar 1992

As of January 1, 1992, exactly 3,286,400,000 out of 3.5 billion $20 bills were Series 1988A. Thus, there would be at least anywhere between 163,600,000 and 263,600,000 Series 1985 or older $20 bills remaining in circulation, the oldest ones made in March 1990 at the latest.

The Series 1990 bills with a new security feature were introduced in April.

50dollar 1992

While no new $50 bills were destroyed or made new as of January 1, 1992, the Series 1990 bills with a new security feature were introduced later that month. The first 528,000,000 were made from January to May 1992, but the late bills did not begin circulation until between June and October.

100dollar 1991

As of January 1, 1992, there were approximately 1.6 billion $100 bills in circulation. Because it is impossible to revive a destroyed bill, and for the fact that not many $100 bills were made in calendar year 1992, there would have to be anywhere between 294,400,000 and 394,400,000 Series 1985 and older $100 bills also remaining in circulation, the oldest ones made in late 1986 or mid-1987 at the latest. Thus, any bills made in late November and December 1991 would not be released to circulation until 1992.
