Discovery Family replaced the Hub Network on October 13, 2014. One of the first feature-length movies that aired on this new network was My Little Pony: Equestria Girls: Rainbow Rocks, which premiered on October 17.
Most programs that previously aired on the Hub Network moved here, including My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. Thus, newer episodes of that show, starting with Season 5 (the first season of a new era), premiered on Discovery Family, on April 4, 2015. The first half of this season premiered through July 11.
A third Equestria Girls movie, Friendship Games, broadcasted on September 26, about a month after four of its own animated shorts and the first 10 minutes of the film aired on August 29, two weeks before the premiere of the second half of Season 5 of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, from September 12 through November 28.
The sixth season of the TV series premiered on March 26, 2016, with more new episodes through October 22, followed by a fourth Equestria Girls film, Legend of Everfree, on November 5. A marathon of the last 13 episodes of Season 6 and all four Equestria Girls movies aired on December 31, 2016.
The seventh season premiered on April 15, 2017. During this season, there were three episode-length specials that aired on June 24, July 1, and July 8, 2017. An hour-length special, Forgotten Friendship, will premiere in February 2018.
Besides My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, feature-length films from most of America's six major film studios have also aired on Discovery Family, such as Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules, Hook, and some Disney movies as well.
