MMMystery on the Friendship Express is the 24th Season 2 episode of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic.
Synopsis[]
Pinkie Pie starts the silliest criminal investigation in the history of Equestria when a cake she is guarding for a contest is destroyed on the way to Canterlot.
Production[]
On January 26, 2011, Lauren Faust wrote premises for this episode (originally titled "Marzipan on the Canterlot Express"), Ponyville Confidential (originally titled "Pony Confidential"), and an early version of Magic Duel. This episode was originally listed as #225 in the Season 2 list, before it moved up to #224 on February 7, 2011, when A Canterlot Wedding was pushed back to the season finale.
Amy Keating Rogers wrote the full outline from January 31 through February 21, 2011. She revised it from February 28 through March 4, then wrote the first full script from March 7–30. Revisions were made to the script from April 1–19 and on May 10. Voice recording began on May 12.
A title change was ordered on April 5, 2011. Effectively, the episode was re-titled "MMMystery on the Friendship Express" on June 23.
The completed animatic for this episode was submitted for review on August 5, 2011.
A rough cut of the animated episode was submitted for review on December 7, 2011.
Production was officially complete on February 17, 2012.
