James and the Giant Peach premiered in theaters on April 12, 1996. Half a year later, on October 15, 1996, it became available on VHS, at a price of $19.99. This VHS was replaced by a new Special Edition in 2000.

Television broadcasts

James and the Giant Peach made its TV premiere on the Disney Channel on April 20, 1997, and aired through April 10, 1998. After a two-year hiatus, it returned to the Disney Channel on May 6, 2000, and aired a few times more through May 3, 2001.
