  • As the new generation of animation (the 2000s) commenced, Kirby of the Stars (the anime series) began development in Japan. A lot of sketches were drawn, and each episode took as much as up to three months to complete.

2002
  • Origins of the English dubbed version of the Kirby anime, and its title, "Kirby: Right Back at Ya!", date back to May 10 of this year, when Fox Network acquired broadcasting rights for this show.
  • The first two episodes premiered on September 14, when the next season of the network's Saturday morning programming block, Fox Kids, was re-branded as the FoxBox. 52 episodes (in two seasons) were planned at first, and two new episodes were broadcast every Saturday morning, at 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. on Fox.
2003
  • Production for all 100 planned episodes was completed in Japan this year.
  • The first season of the English dub was completed on June 21 with a total of 44 episodes.
  • Season 2 of Kirby: Right Back at Ya! premiered on September 6.
2004
  • Season 2 was completed with a total of 27 episodes on April 24.
  • Season 3 premiered on September 18.

  • Halfway through Season 3, the show went on hiatus for the first time on January 8. Just two weeks later, the FoxBox was re-branded again as 4Kids TV.
  • Only eight episodes aired this year, from May 28 to August 6.
2006
  • On July 8, the show returned with repeats of older episodes after a long hiatus, followed by the last set of new episodes beginning on September 16, and ending on December 9.

  • Only one episode reran very early this year, on January 6. After that, the show went on its last (and longest) hiatus ever from 4Kids TV.
  • For one year starting in October, British cable television network Pop broadcasted the first 52 episodes.

  • Kirby: Right Back at Ya! returned one last time on 4Kids TV on June 21. It remained on the network's schedule until December 27, when the Fox Network ceased broadcasting of children's programming. The last shows to air on that day only contained New Year's Day bumpers during the end credits.
  • Along with all other shows acquired by 4Kids TV, Kirby: Right Back at Ya! was available via the network's video-on-demand service, both online and through digital cable since June 21.
2009
  • My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, the spiritual successor to Kirby: Right Back at Ya!, began production, starting with the first season.
  • From June 6 to July 11 for only six consecutive runs, Kirby: Right Back at Ya! reran on The CW4Kids.
  • The very last Kirby installment seen from 4Kids Entertainment was an edited version of Kirby: Fright to the Finish!, which aired on September 12, 2009.
  • The last episode to appear on-demand was Episode 70: Buccaneer Birdy, which was made available in late Summer/early Fall.
  • 4Kids Entertainment's distribution rights for Kirby: Right Back at Ya! expired on October 9, 2009, much to the dismay of many Kirby fans since that day, and the show never returned anywhere in the United States ever since.

  • In June, My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic was slated for a premiere date of October 10 on the Hub Network, exactly one year and one day after Kirby: Right Back at Ya!'s demise.
  • The opening animation sequence was unveiled on September 28.

  • Season 1 was completed on May 6 with 26 episodes.
  • In August, Hasbro confirmed a second season of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, which would later premiere on September 17.
  • Exclusively in western Europe and Australia, episodes of Kirby: Right Back at Ya! were made available via the Wii's Kirby TV Channel, from June 23 to December 15. Within the United Kingdom, My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic also premiered this year on TV, just more than a week later, followed by other western European countries.
2012
  • Just weeks before My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic's second season was completed on April 21, Kirby: Right Back at Ya! returned via the Kirby TV Channel for the Wii, again exclusively in western Europe and Australia. It remained through September 13.
  • My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic alone was released on the iTunes Store, starting with the first two seasons. Each episode was available in 480p (Standard Definition) or 720p (High Definition). It was also released on Netflix, starting with Season 1 on April 1, and Season 2 on May 10.
  • Season 3 premiered on the Hub Network on November 10.
2013
  • Unlike the first two seasons, the third season ended with 13 episodes on February 16. All episodes were later made available through digital video services.
  • A spin-off film series called "Equestria Girls" commenced on June 16, beginning with the first movie, My Little Pony: Equestria Girls.
  • Season 4 premiered on November 23. Not only was it the last season on the Hub Network, but also the first to be released simultaneously on iTunes and a few other digital video services as well, except Netflix, which didn't release this season until 2014.
2014
  • The fourth season was completed with 26 episodes, like the first two seasons, on May 10.
  • The second Equestria Girls movie, Rainbow Rocks, premiered on October 17, four days after the Hub Network was re-branded as Discovery Family.
2015
  • Season 5 premiered on April 4. It also ran for 26 episodes, through November 28.
  • A third Equestria Girls movie, titled Friendship Games, premiered exclusively on Discovery Family on September 26, whereas the first two films were also screened in limited theatrical areas in the U.S.
2016
  • Season 6 premiered on March 26. The second half of this season began airing on July 30, and continued through October 22.
  • Prior to the premiere of the second half of Season 6, the San Diego Comic-Con International 2016 not only unveiled this half of the season, but also a trailer for the fourth Equestria Girls movie, Legend of Everfree, as well. The film was released exclusively to Netflix subscribers on October 1, then on Discovery Family on November 5.
2017
  • Season 7 premiered on April 15 and will continue through October 28.
  • Three episodes under the Equestria Girls series were released halfway through Season 7, first on Discovery Family, then on DVD.
