Before 1983, Walt Disney Productions distributed television programs as well as feature-length movies, including those that broadcast on NBC, CBS and ABC. The name "Walt Disney Television" was adopted at the same time with Buena Vista Television.


1981-1983[]

1981 Walt Disney Television Logo

During the early '80s, aired on CBS every Satuday evening at 7:00 p.m. was the Walt Disney anthology series. Each broadcast comprised of a Disney original film, often split into two parts.

1983-1985[]

Walt Disney Pictures Television

After the Walt Disney anthology series was discontinued in late 1983 on CBS, it was succeeded by Walt Disney Pictures Television.

1985-2007[]

Walt Disney Television (1985)

This was the company's very first logo, seen on lots of programs that aired on ABC, Disney Channel, Toon Disney, ABC Family (now Freeform) and Disney XD, but today, it's quite rare to find.

In 1985, Walt Disney Television Animation, the animated counterpart of Walt Disney Television, began using in-credit text logos at the end of the credits of their programs, such as The New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, The Little Mermaid, Aladdin, and Timon & Pumbaa.

2003-2016[]

After the first Walt Disney Television logo stopped airing on new programs, in its place within animated series was this logo. It was seen on programs that originally aired on ABC Kids, Disney Channel, Toon Disney, and Disney XD, and can still be seen on those programs on DVD and on iTunes.

Disney Television Animation (2011)

The word "Walt" from Walt Disney Television Animation was dropped in 2011.

2014-present[]

Disney Television Animation (2014)

The logo for animated shows was redone for 2014.
