The original release of Windows 7 Professional costed $300 ($200 for the upgrade). With Service Pack 1, it was priced at $150.
The "best" edition of Windows 7, officially known as Windows 7 Ultimate, also includes the ability to change the language on your PC. This edition was originally priced at $320 ($220 for the upgrade). With Service Pack 1, it was priced at $200.
